If someone you love is in federal prison, or still lives with a federal conviction from years ago, a consultation is the place to start. Criminal Center handles federal cases only, including presidential pardon and commutation petitions.
To learn what a clemency lawyer does and what shapes the work, see clemency lawyer: what we do.
What happens in the consultation
The consultation is one hour with attorney Brandon Sample. We’ll go over the federal case, the sentence, and what has happened since. If you have the judgment (the court paper listing the conviction and sentence) and the case number, have them handy.
Then we’ll tell you whether a pardon or a commutation (a shorter sentence) is realistic, whether the timing is right, or whether another federal option, like compassionate release, fits better. We’ll discuss the available options, the timing, and what information is still needed.
Before you contact us
Contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Unsolicited information you send may not be confidential. Don’t include anything you aren’t ready to share yet.
How to request a consultation
Send a short form online, and we’ll contact you to set a time. Questions? Email help@criminalcenter.com.
The consultation itself does not hire us to write a petition. If we can help further, we’ll explain what that work involves before you decide.
