What this notice covers

This page states the limits on how to read Clemency.com. The articles, news posts, and forms are general information about presidential clemency. They are not advice for any one case. A message sent through the site does not by itself make us your lawyer. What we collect, and who can see it, is in the privacy policy.

Not legal advice and not your lawyer

A statute, a Justice Department rule, or a grant list can change, and a page can lag behind it. Check the date on the page and the primary source it cites, such as the Constitution, the United States Code, the Code of Federal Regulations, or a page on justice.gov. Reading a page, or sending the consultation form, does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Information you send before we agree to represent you may not be confidential. Please do not send the details of a case until we have talked. The consultation form is for scheduling that conversation. It is not a clemency petition. Petitions are filed with the Office of the Pardon Attorney on the Department's own forms.

Federal cases only

Brandon Sample is admitted to practice law only in Vermont. Practice is limited to federal courts and federal agencies. Clemency on this site means a pardon, a commutation, a reprieve, or remission of a fine for an offense against the United States. The President cannot grant clemency for a state conviction. What clemency means states that limit, and the pardon and commutation comparison explains the forms.

Messages you send through the site

If you use the consultation form, we use what you submit to decide whether we can meet with you and to schedule that meeting. The privacy policy lists the fields. Email to help@criminalcenter.com is how to reach the office about the site. It is not a way to file a petition, and it is not a place to attach a case file.

Grants and other results described here

Outcomes vary. A past result does not predict or guarantee the outcome of any other case. No one can promise that the President will grant clemency.

Some news posts describe clemency a President has granted, taken from the Office of the Pardon Attorney's public lists. Those posts report the public record. They are not a prediction about any other person. A past grant does not say what will happen with a petition that is still pending.

Request a consultation and tell us what happened. We'll listen, tell you whether we can help, and explain what comes next.
